Shelsea has worked in the dental field for over 10 years, sharing her knowledge with all of us at Brooks Family Dental. She gained interest in dentistry after seeing the morale boost redoing one’s teeth can give. Shelsea saw this first-hand in her mom. She’s been hooked ever since, and you can feel this passion.
Originally from Northern Nevada, Shelsea enjoys all that this part of the country offers. You can find her and her husband enjoying Tahoe in the summer, hanging with their dog Hayley, or trying out one of their favorite restaurants(Ohana Sushi or Pancho & Willey’s).
Her favorite holiday is July 4th, which just so happens to be her birthday AND wedding anniversary. Runner up is Thanksgiving.
Around the office, Shelsea remembers everything. She’ll remember the most amazing facts, and details about patients, preferences and family.
Tami has been in the dental field for over 30 years in multiple different specialities. She grew up in Southern California and moved to Reno in her early 20s to raise her two kids, Tori and Cade with her husband, Marty. She loves being able to help create healthy smiles among her patients and if we are having a bad day, she is the first one in the office we go to to make us smile! Tami is not normally very spontaneous but, in a weekend leadership course a few years ago, she listened to the speaker and went and bought a new car (she says she won’t speak about the terrible interest rate she got)!
Ashley has the longest history in our office being the daughter of the previous owner, Dr. Gregory Pisani. So, you could say that she has worked with teeth her whole life! She is a native Nevadan and the lucky mom to two boys, ages 2.5 years and 6 months and loves the idea of raising her boys exactly where she and her husband grew up! She most loves her days off in the summertime when she can go hiking and spending time in the afternoon hanging out on the beaches in Tahoe. Wintertime, on the other hand, you can find her hanging with her husband and boys in the snow skiing (especially as the boys get older). Ashley loves being able to connect and help the public with their dental health. Even if she only spends an hour with them, she loves getting the chance to help them leave better than they did when they first entered her chair.
Garyn joined our team in September of 2022 and fits right into our practice. She grew up in Susanville, CA. After getting her Dental Hygiene degree in Boise, ID, she decided to move back to Reno to be closer to her family. If she’s not working, she spends her time shopping (even though she knows she shouldn’t do that as often but it is her guilty pleasure). She is the middle child in her family and loves to spend as much time as possible with her older and younger sister as well as her parents, so she is constantly driving to Susanville on the weekends so they can all be together. She has been in the dental field for about 3 years and loves getting to know her patients and seeing their dental health improvements made while in her care.
Andrea grew up in Gilroy, CA, the garlic capital of the world! She and her fiance, Austin moved to Reno in Feb of 2022 and we were lucky enough to have her join our team after being in the dental field for 13 years! Andrea spends her days off enjoying her coffee in bed alongside her 2 cats, getting takeout and catching some of the beautiful Nevada sunshine. Her favorite part about working in dentistry is establishing relationships with her patients and being a part of their smile transformations, big or small. She has always loved working with her hands so, having the chance to actually help sculpt teeth makes her feel fulfilled.
Maria joins us with 10 years of experience working in the dental field here in Reno! She moved to Reno when she was 2 and grew up in the North Valley’s so, she is no stranger to everything Reno and Northern Nevada. She is a lucky mom to three kids ages 16, 11 and 1 and has been married to her wonderful husband for 13 years. She is a proud Hispanic and has an extremely close relationship with her two sisters and two brothers. Maria’s favorite food is Chilaquiles and loves traveling to Mexico. Her favorite part about dentistry is the connection she makes with people, patients and the art of creating their smiles.
Marilyn joins us with 30+ years in the dental field and boy are we happy she chose to work with us. She has been everywhere in the world because her dad worked for Nasa when she was growing up, so she actually went to high school in Madagascar! On her days off, you will find her taking her dogs, Sammy and Julie out for an adventure or being with her friends. She moved to Reno full time in 2018 and loves everything that Northern Nevada has to offer. Her favorite part about working in dentistry is when she gets the chance to see her patients’ faces when they finally get the smile of their dreams!
