Q & A WITH DR. BEN

What do you love most about dentistry?

The hands-on patient care and the long-term relationship. Seeing patients is my passion-whether it’s helping to get them out of pain, or a full-on cosmetic makeover on a patient. All the in between. It’s a passion and I continue to study hard to be good at it.

My largest surprise professionally is how much I would treasure the relationships I gained with patients, the trust created, and getting to know about their lives, values and families. Living in Reno, I often see patients out, or when I visit their businesses here locally.

What kind of music can we hear in your car right now?

This morning on the way to work it was Taj Mahal singing “Shady Grove”, what a great, creative rendition of a bluegrass classic! I listen to everything though.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

When I’m not at work, I camp, hunt, mountain bike, read voraciously and travel both nationally and internationally. You can find me rambling around in some of our great public Nevada outback. I also have a baby that was born in December of 2020, Leo, and he is taking a lot of my attention in a great way!

If you did not live in Nevada, where would you live and why?

If I didn’t live in Nevada (which is definitely my home), I might move to rural Missouri where I was born in the Ozarks, or…South Korea. What an amazing country with amazing food and culture!
