Shelsea

Director of Operations AKA Office Genie

Shelsea has worked in the dental field for over a decade, sharing her knowledge with all of us at Brooks Family Dental. She gained interest in dentistry after seeing the morale boost redoing one’s teeth can give. Shelsea saw this first-hand in her mom. She’s been hooked ever since, and you can feel this passion.

Originally from Northern Nevada, Shelsea enjoys all that this part of the country offers. You can find her and her husband enjoying Tahoe in the summer, hanging with their dogs Hayley and Hank, hanging at her sister’s tattoo shop (V at Shades of Grey Tattoo Studio) or trying out one of their favorite restaurants (UMI Sushi, Moo Dang or Kenji’s).

Her favorite holiday is July 4th, which just so happens to be her birthday AND wedding anniversary. Runner up is Thanksgiving.

Around the office, Shelsea remembers everything. She’ll remember the most amazing facts, and details about patients, preferences and family.

Tami

Registered Dental Hygienist - Team Lead

Tami has been in the dental field for over 35 years in multiple different specialities. She grew up in Southern California and moved to Reno in her early 20s to raise her two kids, with her husband, Marty. She loves being able to help create healthy smiles among her patients and if we are having a bad day, she is the first one in the office we go to to make us smile! Tami is not normally very spontaneous but, in a weekend leadership course a few years ago, she listened to the speaker and went and bought a new car (she says she won’t speak about the terrible interest rate she got)!

Ashley

Registered Dental Hygienist

Ashley has the longest history in our office being the daughter of the previous owner, Dr. Gregory Pisani. So, you could say that she has worked with teeth her whole life! She is a native Northern Nevadan, the lucky mom to two boys (ages 6 and 5) and loves the idea of raising her boys exactly where she and her husband grew up! She most loves it in the summertime when she can go hiking and spend afternoons in the Tahoe sun. Wintertime, on the other hand, you can find her hanging with her husband and boys in the snow skiing (especially as the boys get older). Ashley loves being able to connect and help the public with their dental health. Even if she only spends an hour with them, she loves getting the chance to help them leave better than they did when they first entered her chair.

Garyn

Registered Dental Hygienist

Garyn joined our team in September of 2022 and has fit right into our practice. Prior to coming to Reno, she grew up in Susanville, CA and after getting her Dental Hygiene degree in Boise, ID, she decided to move back to Reno to be closer to her family. If she’s not working, she spends her time with her puppy Bentley and her Fiance, Trent. She is the middle child in her family and loves to spend as much time as possible with her older and younger sisters and her parents. She has been in the dental field for about a decade and loves the social aspect of getting to know her patients and seeing their dental health improvements made while in her care.

Debbie

Treatment and Financial Coordinator

Debbie joined us with 20+ years in the dental field, starting as an assistant and slowly working her way up to the front desk. Her most favorite part about dentistry is the chance to build meaningful relationships while promoting the importance that a healthy smile is vital to self esteem. Mom to three beautiful daughters and originally from the Bay Area, she moved to Reno to join her husband, Ken and is loving everything that Northern Nevada has to offer. She is a big fan of the outdoors – whether it is walking, relaxing at her pool with Ken and her loyal pup Lilly, or grabbing a bite outside, she finds her peace being in nature and around water. Next time you’re in, give her a recommendation for your favorite restaurant!

Lore

Sterilization Technician

Every office has a backbone and in our office, that stability is created by Lore with her constant organization and ability to keep our infection control standards in line. She moved to Reno from Venezuela to join her husband Diego with a dream to be a Registered Dental Hygienist. Lore loves how dentistry increases the confidence people have in themselves and is dedicated to learning from the best team in Northern Nevada, Brooks Family Dental! In her free time, you’ll either find her studying or hanging with her husband, her puppy and her two bunnies enjoying nature. If she didn’t live in Nevada, she would choose to move to Florida! She said that she would love to live next to the beach since her favorite season is anytime it is warm outside.

Lisette

Registered Dental Assistant

Lisette brings almost a decade of background within dentistry and an impressive knowledge and interest of all things related to digital dentistry. Dentistry has really allowed Lisette to fulfill her joy of seeing the impact changing someone’s smile makes on their entire lives for function or cosmetics and everything in between. She is a super mom to her son and daughter and spends a lot of time outside of work hanging with them during sports competitions and events or dreaming of the Christmas season since it’s her favorite holiday! The memories she got to share with her grandma looking at holiday lights growing up is something she now gets to share with her own children, carrying on the most wonderful family traditions.

Courtney

Dental Assistant

Another Nevada native joined our staff bringing more than 20 years of dental expertise to our office, meet Courtney! Dentistry has allowed her to meet new people and seeing the impact building confidence in a new healthy smile can make on those around her. Away from the office she stays busy playing on a billiard team alongside her husband, Eddie and loves to relax with her 3 year old German Shepherd/Malinios and 7 year old Chihuahua terrier mix. Courtney’s dream is to one day live in Hawaii, I mean does that even require an explanation why?!
